Manage Price Cards Part 2

Manage Price Cards Part 2

Price Cards Validity Check

The Pricing Grid lists Price Cards for a device model in descending rank order. The Price Card at the top of the list (for a device model) is evaluated first to see if it is Active and meets the date/time validity period. If the Price Card is Active and meets the validity period, it is selected for download to the stores associated with the Store Group for which it is targeted. If the Price Card is not targeted for a Store Group, the Price Card is available to all stores.

If a Price Card is Active but no Start Date/Stop Date is set, the Price Card is always deemed valid. If the Price Card at the top of the list is inactive or does not meet the validity period, the next Price Card in the list is evaluated. This evaluation process continues until a Price Card is deemed valid.

Active Price Cards display an Active status in the Pricing Grid.

The Price Card’s validity period (if configured) displays under the Start Date and Stop Date headers:

A Price Card is deemed expired if the date/time in the Stop Date has passed. Expired Price Cards display an Expired status in the Pricing Grid.

To change a Price Card's priority (evaluation) order, click and hold the grid icon next to the Price Card and drag it to the desired place in the list for that device model.

Note: You cannot change a Price Card's priority if you have filtered the Pricing Grid by device name.

Clone a Price Card

To expedite the process of creating a Price Card, you can clone an existing one. All data from the original Price Card is cloned except for the Analytics Tag, Start Date, and Stop Date.

Note: You can only clone one Price Card at a time. If multiple Price Cards are selected, the clone icon is not active.

To clone a Price Card, follow these steps:

1. Select the desired Price Card on the Pricing Grid by checking its box.

2. Click the icon at the top of the Pricing Grid.

3. The cloned Price Card appears at the bottom of the list for that device model. (Look for a Price Card called “Duplicate of” the Price Card you selected in Step 1.)

4. Double-click the Name field for the cloned Price Card, rename the card, and then edit the card's data as desired.

Inactivate a Price Card

There may be times when you want to prevent a Price Card from being available to client devices. For example, you may detect an incorrect price and want to investigate before editing the Price Card. When you inactivate a Price Card, it will not be available for display even if its validity period (Start Date/Stop Date) is valid.

To inactivate a Price Card, follow these steps:

1. Select the desired Price Card on the Pricing Grid by checking its box.

Note: Active Price Cards display Active in the Status column.

Note: You can inactivate multiple cards at once, but they must all have the same status. If they do not have the same status, the toggle switch is disabled.

2. Click the toggle switch at the top of the page to inactivate the Price Card.

A success message briefly displays and the Active status changes to Inactive for that Price Card.

Note: To activate the Price Card again, simply check its box and click the toggle switch.

Edit a Price Card

To edit a Price Card’s pricing, promotional, or targeting information for a device, follow these steps:

1. Locate the desired Price Card on the Pricing Grid.

2. Double-click the data field you want to edit.

Note: Some fields display a pop-up box for entering data, while others are editable within the field.

3. Make the desired changes to the Price Card's data, and then click the Enter or Tab key on your keyboard. As you update a data field, a success message briefly displays.

Delete a Price Card

To delete a Price Card for a specific device model, follow these steps:

1. Select the desired Price Card on the Pricing Grid by checking its box.

Note: You can select multiple Price Cards for deletion.

2. Click the "X" icon at the top of the Pricing Grid.

A message appears asking you to confirm the deletion.

3. Click Delete.

The Price Card is deleted from the Pricing Grid.

Export/Import Pricing Data

To make it easier to update pricing data, you can export the pricing data (including promotions data) from the ViewSpot database as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file, edit the file, and then import the file back into the ViewSpot database. There are several rules you must follow for a successful data import:

Do not add or edit a Price Card Id (CardId), OEM, Model Name, or Product ID.

Do not add, delete, or rename a column header.

Verify that no two column headers have the same name.

Note: Column headers in the CSV file must match those in the exported pricing data.

Export Pricing Data

Note: All pricing data (including promotions data) will be exported to the CSV file, even if not currently displayed in the Pricing Grid. For example, if you swipe the Retail section from the grid, its pricing data will still be exported. Also, if pricing data exists for archived (inactive) devices, that data will also be exported.

To export pricing data to a CSV file, follow these steps:

1. Click Export at the top of the Pricing Grid.

A pop-up screen showing the exported pricing data appears.

2. Click Download.

Once the file downloads to your default download folder, an indicator appears at the top of the screen.

3. Click Open file to open the export.csv file.

4. Edit the pricing data as desired and then import the CSV file.

Import Pricing Data

To import a CSV file containing updated pricing data (including promotions data), follow these steps:

1. Click Import at the top of the Pricing Grid.

A browser screen appears.

2. Browse to the CSV file you want to import, select it, and then click Open.

A pop-up screen showing the imported data appears.

3. Click Save.

4. Click OK when this confirmation message appears:

The Pricing Grid updates to reflect the imported data.

Note: Pricing data in the ViewSpot database will be overwritten with the imported data. If you do not want to overwrite the data, click Cancel.

Note: An Import failed message saying CardId(s) do not exist, (when you did not add or edit any CardIds), means one or more Price Cards were deleted from the ViewSpot database after you exported the Pricing data. In this case, you should export the Pricing data again and compare the CardIds in the exported CSV file with those in the import CSV file. Edit the import CSV file to remove any CardIds not found in the exported CSV file.

Note: If the import file contains data for archived (inactive) devices, their associated Price cards are hidden on the Pricing Grid. Activating the device will reveal the cards.
