Manage Store Groups
Store Groups identify logical groupings of retail stores to facilitate the targeting of pricing data (Price Cards) and display content (Experiences). For example, if you want all your retail stores on the U.S. East coast to download a new promotion, you can add those stores to a ‘US_East_Coast’ Store Group and target the promotion to that group.
Note: Using Store Groups when creating Price Cards or Experiences is optional. If Store Groups are not used, the Price Card or Experience targets all stores.
Note: Stores data used to create Store Groups is uploaded via a CSV file containing the geographical areas, territories, districts, and other data for your retail stores. See Upload a CSV File for instructions on uploading stores data.
Store Group management involves these tasks:
Create a Store Group
To create a Store Group, follow these steps:
1. Log in to ViewSpot Studio.
2. Select Content Management > Store Groups from the menu bar.
3. Click Create New Group at the bottom of the page.
This action adds a new Store Group to the Saved Groups list.
Note: Store Groups are listed alphabetically. To rename a Store Group, double-click its name and type a new name.
4. Use the drop-down filters in the left column to select the desired values that create a subset of stores for your Store Group.
Note: Store filters correspond to stores data headers in the CSV file uploaded to the ViewSpot Studio database. See Select Filters for more information on these filters.
5. When you are done selecting filters, click Add To Group.
Tags for your chosen filters appear above the filter list (as shown in this example).
The stores that match your chosen filters appear in the stores list in the center column, and the total number of those stores appears next to the Store Group name.
Note: After creating the initial Store Group, you can add (or delete) filters as desired. As you do, the stores list dynamically updates to reflect the stores that match those filters. See Edit a Store Group for details.
Note: To delete a filter tag, simply click its icon.
The following options are available for viewing Store Groups data.
Filter Data Columns
Hover the mouse to the right of any data header to display its filter icon, and then click the icon.
Use the drop-down list to select your filter criteria, and then enter keyword(s) in the Filter field. As you enter keywords, a second drop-down list appears to aid in filtering the data. The Store Group list dynamically updates with stores that match the filters.
Sort Data Columns
Click any data header to display an arrow icon. An up arrow indicates data in ascending order and a down arrow in descending order. Click the header to toggle the order.
Clone a Store Group
To expedite the process of creating a Store Group, you can clone (duplicate) an existing one. All data from the original Store Group is duplicated except for the name.
To clone a Store Group, follow these steps:
1. Log in to ViewSpot Studio.
2. Select Content Management > Store Groups from the menu bar.
3. Hover your mouse over the desired Store Group name, and then click the icon. A new Store Group is added to the list with “copy” appended to the name of the Store Group you duplicated.
4. Rename the Store Group (double-click the name), and edit its filters to include the desired stores.
Edit a Store Group
To edit a Store Group, follow these steps:
1. Log in to ViewSpot Studio.
2. Select Content Management > Store Groups from the menu bar.
3. Select the desire Store Group from the Saved Groups list to display its filter tags and a list of stores corresponding to those tags.
4. Edit the Store Group's list of stores by adding or deleting filter tags as desired. Each time you add filters and click Add To Group, the filter tags appear in a hierarchical stack.
Here's an example of how filter tags support flexibility when creating Store Groups.
In this example, all stores labeled as South in the uploaded CSV file that are in Tennessee are added to the initial Store Group. In the first edit, stores in Southern Maryland are added to the Store Group. In the second edit, a single store identified by 06668-01 (which is not in Tennessee or Southern Maryland), is added to the Store Group.
Delete a Store Group
To delete a Store Group, follow these steps:
1. Log in to ViewSpot Studio.
2. Select Content Management > Store Groups from the menu bar.
3. Hover the mouse over the desire Store Group and click the icon.
A message appears asking you to confirm the deletion.
4. Click Delete.
Note: If you see a message similar to this one, edit the Price Card or Experience to remove the Store Group, and then repeat steps 3 and 4 above.
